Micah Ofori-Appiah

English & Geography Teacher
My name is Micah, and I am a passionate and dedicated English teacher with over a decade of experience working in and visiting more than 15 countries, primarily focused on humanitarian work. My expertise lies in training teachers and supporting schools across Africa, with a particular emphasis on implementing the British National Curriculum.

Throughout my career, I have worked to bridge educational gaps, provide quality education in under-resourced areas, and train teachers to deliver the British National Curriculum effectively. Witnessing the transformative impact of education on both students and teachers has been incredibly rewarding.

My journey in education was deeply influenced by an extraordinary teacher in Year 10, who brought English to life for me. This experience fuelled my commitment to making English accessible, engaging, and inspiring for all students. I strive to ensure that every learner sees the value and excitement in studying English.

I specialise in teaching English from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 5, across all major exam boards. Growing up in Southeast London equipped me with the skills to work effectively with students from challenging backgrounds, including those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, language difficulties, and special educational needs.

In response to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, I developed a strong interest in online education. I have since honed my skills in creating engaging and interactive virtual lessons, ensuring students remain motivated and achieve their best, even in remote learning environments.

I chose to join My Education Online because of its commitment to delivering high-quality, personalised education to students worldwide. MEO’s values align with my passion for making education accessible to all, regardless of location or circumstance. I am excited to be part of a team that prioritises student success and innovation in education.

Outside of my professional life, I have a deep love for music, and I enjoy singing and playing both the piano and guitar.
