Hi there, I’m Zainab MEO’s Computer Science teacher. With over 15 years of
teaching experience, I bring a deep passion for making computer science
accessible and enjoyable to students of all levels. I hold an honours degree in
Computer Science from Cardiff University, and throughout my career, I’ve been
dedicated to fostering a strong understanding of Computer Science, whether in high
school, college, or online settings.
My teaching journey has taken me to well-respected institutions like Cardiff and
Vale College and Coleg Gwent, where I’ve taught a wide range of courses,
including A-level ICT, BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in IT, and Essential Skills
Wales. I also have extensive experience teaching GCSE Computer Science,
guiding students through this critical stage of their education. Additionally, I have
worked with Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 students, helping them develop a strong
foundation in Computing and preparing them for the challenges of higher-level
study. My approach is rooted in patience, creativity, and a commitment to adapting
my methods to meet the diverse learning needs of my students.
In addition to my classroom experience, I’ve worked as an EdTech content creator,
where I developed engaging and innovative educational materials for online
platforms. This role allowed me to refine my ability to break down complex concepts
into easy-to-understand lessons, making learning not only accessible but also
enjoyable for students navigating the digital landscape.
I’m a strong advocate for interactive learning, believing that digital tools and online
environments can transform education into a more collaborative and effective
experience. I emphasise teamwork and active student participation, striving to
create a positive learning atmosphere where students feel motivated, confident,
and excited to explore new ideas.
Balancing my professional life with my role as a mother of two, I live in Cardiff with
my family. I’m committed to continuous learning and enjoy exploring new teaching
strategies and technologies that keep my students engaged and inspired. My broad
interests, ranging from web design and art to hill walking, reflect my creative and
adventurous spirit, which I bring into my teaching.
At MEO, I’m thrilled to leverage my extensive experience to create an engaging,
supportive, and effective online learning environment. I’m dedicated to helping
students thrive and reach their full potential in the ever-evolving field of computer
science.
